UTOPIA Fiber Reports Strong 2025 Growth

UTOPIA Fiber wrapped up 2025 with notable milestones, crossing 67,000 total subscribers across 20 Utah member cities while adding more than one million feet of new conduit and fiber to its statewide network. The Utah-based open access network also completed the Bountiful Fiber build a full year ahead of schedule in May 2025 — a project owned by Bountiful City and operated by UTOPIA Fiber.

Construction highlights for the year included over 1 million feet of underground conduit and fiber-optic cable, nearly 14,000 feet of aerial strand, and 3,331 new handholes. The build expanded connectivity to more than 9,000 additional homes and nearly 1,000 businesses.

On the subscriber side, UTOPIA added nearly 8,000 new customers across its gigabit and multi-gigabit tiers, including 194 new 10 Gig subscribers. The network maintains a Net Promoter Score of 60 and a 4.6 Google rating.

UTOPIA Fiber’s open access model — which separates publicly owned fiber infrastructure from retail service — allows multiple private ISPs to compete over the same network, giving customers genuine choice in provider, price, and support. The agency currently partners with 19 private-sector ISPs and delivers fiber service in 21 Utah cities, with business-class service available in 50 cities.
