Since 2018, the Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN) has helped communities serving almost a million people work towards broadband independence. From locally controlled broadband networks to ensuring every person has the tools, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed in the modern world, CBAN and its members are dedicated to better broadband for all.

ALLO Fiber appreciates the work of Curtis Dean and CBAN. As we continue to build ubiquitous fiber networks for business and residential customers, we believe it is also important to close the digital divide. CBAN provides education, guidance, and advocacy for their members to be able to serve communities with better broadband access. We look forward to the weekly newsletter which contains valuable insight into our industry.
In 2023, our Digital Navigator program, led by Bri Dillavou, worked across southern Iowa to bridge the digital divide by providing community members access to appropriate devices, essential digital skills, and affordable internet solutions. Through collaborative events with libraries, schools, and other community partners, we provided one-on-one sessions and group classes, and distributed devices to help individuals work towards their digital goals.
2023 was a big year for broadband media coverage, and CBAN was tapped for our thoughts on digital equity, broadband infrastructure, the rural broadband crisis, and more. Our Broadband Action podcast saw great growth, and our Broadband Bytes newsletter doubled in subscribers!
